2,000 Yoga Enthusiasts Gather for Summer Festival in Ha Long City

Massive Yoga Event in Quang Ninh

A vibrant summer yoga festival took place in Ha Long city, located in the northern province of Quang Ninh, from May 25 to May 26. This mass yoga performance featured an impressive gathering of 2,000 people from 70 clubs nationwide.

Celebrating International Yoga Day

The annual event was organized to honor International Yoga Day, celebrated on June 21. The festival aimed to raise public awareness about the numerous health benefits associated with yoga.

Diverse Activities and Workshops

Over the two-day event, participants enjoyed a variety of activities, including large-scale yoga performances and informative workshops. These sessions provided an opportunity for yoga trainers to share their expertise and promote a message of health and high spirits within the community.

Special Highlights

One of the festival’s highlights was the grand yoga performance, set to the background music of “Ha Long, the Memory of the Sea.” Workshops focused on the theme “Yoga for a Better Life,” offering valuable insights and techniques to enhance well-being.

Recognizing Excellence

The festival also featured an award ceremony, recognizing the best performing clubs. The Mai Chang YSK Hanoi Club won first prize, followed by Thanh Nga Yoga Club in second place and Huong Yen YSK Hai Duong Club in third. Additionally, six clubs received consolation prizes for their performances.

A Growing Tradition

International Yoga Day was designated by the UN General Assembly in 2015, following an initiative by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In Vietnam, the celebrations have been going strong for nine years, becoming an essential gathering for yoga practitioners across the country.

This event not only celebrated the physical and mental benefits of yoga but also fostered a sense of community and shared purpose among participants from all over Vietnam.
