Open Yoga Event at Campus Bohunice on Sunday to Mark International Yoga Day

To celebrate International Yoga Day, the Yoga in Daily Life Brno association, in collaboration with the Embassy of India in Prague, the Indian Community in the Czech Republic, and the Faculty of Sports Studies of Masaryk University (MUNI), will host an open yoga event on Sunday, June 16. The event will take place at the Masaryk University Campus in Bohunice from 10 AM to 3:30 PM in building E34, ground floor, movement hall.

Event Overview

The International Day of Yoga is celebrated annually on June 21, established by the United Nations in 2014 to raise global awareness of the many benefits of practicing yoga. This year’s event in Brno aims to promote yoga as a holistic practice for physical and mental well-being.

Expert-Led Workshops

Workshop 1: Yoga for Preventing and Treating Back Pain

  • Time: 10 AM to 12:30 PM
  • Leader: Professor Martin Repko
  • Details:
    • Focus on preventing and treating back pain.
    • Practical session with yoga exercises targeting muscle imbalances and faulty movement patterns.
    • Techniques based on movement, breathing, and relaxation exercises from the Yoga in Daily Life methods.

Workshop 2: Yoga for Achieving Hormonal Health and Balance

  • Time: 2 PM to 3:30 PM
  • Leader: Doctor Alena Filková
  • Details:
    • Focus on hormonal health, especially for women.
    • Practical session with yoga exercises targeting the endocrine system and female hormonal balance.
    • Techniques for strengthening the pelvic floor area and overall hormonal balance.

Both workshops will be conducted in Czech, with English translation available on-site.
